7. Pergola

Climbers cover the twisted pillars of the pergola, which is draped in blue and white wisterias in the spring. Against the house is a fragrant, summer-flowering Magnolia grandiflora ‘Exmouth’ and the fascinating Actinidia kolomikta, with leaves apparently dipped in pink and white paint.
